Fight For Children was founded on a simple truth: Children are the future.

Fight For Children is committed to increasing the number of urban youth who are prepared for post secondary education and career opportunities. We do so by investing time, effort, and resources in education and health care solutions that enable youth to reach their potential in school and in life. Founded in 1990, our entrepreneurial, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization has raised over $105 million through contributions, matching grants and public policy initiatives to support more than 140 organizations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Fight For Children has evolved from a philanthropic entity that supports "good work" to one that is an eager and active catalyst for citywide educational improvement in children's lives. We provide funding, inspiration and a neutral common ground where individuals and organizations representing many backgrounds and philosophies can work collaboratively to create lasting change.

Fight For Children is primarily known for:

• Building strategic alliances to create solutions to complicated problems. Through our involvement in the District of Columbia K-12 Education Initiative, we help attract millions of public and private dollars to transform K-12 schools.

• Creating and managing signature fundraising events, including School Night and Fight Night that make philanthropy exciting and engaging while raising millions of dollars for local children's service organizations. We also assist other non-profit organizations to develop and deliver their own creative events that have the same appeal, flair, drawing power and positive revenue results as those created for our own fundraising efforts.
