VH1 Save The Music Tour Featuring Angel To Perform At Crobar Night Club In New York City As Part Of Brand Building Campaign

a new youth marketing consultancy formed out of a partnership between
DC consulting firm Westin Rinehart and teen-marketer Buzz Marketing Group,
has formed an alliance with Midas Records to pioneer a new method of building
a brand through an artist. Angel, the Midas musician employed in the campaign,
will be performing Monday, March 8, 2004 at the Crobar Nightclub in New
York City to kick-off the high school tour of the Midas Records Presents:
The VH1 Save The Music Tour benefiting the Save The Music Foundation.
The teenage audience is less likely to buy music because of technological
advancements such as the ability to both download and copy music. Midas
Records, VH1 and Blue Fusion are responding by giving the music away free,
but creating an arsenal of products that revolve around the musician,
such as lip-gloss, glitter, etc. Many entertainers have explored and been
successful with this option, such as 50 Cent with the G-Unit Sneakers
and P.Diddy with the Sean Jean Clothing line. However, this is the first
time it is being done in conjunction with the initial artist launch and
free music giveaway.
Blue Fusion will have their network of teenagers product seeding Angel
merchandise at their local schools, as well as answering questions in
regularly scheduled surveys that will provide valuable input about the
artist's music and image while giving her music away for free. This peer-to-peer
national network of kids is going to play an active role in shaping the
Angel marketing crusade and branding strategies, making this an innovative
approach to both product development and artist promotion.
