1. What is the concept behind Escapio.com?

Escapio.com is an online hotel-booking service. The website currently has over 1,400 handpicked small and medium-sized specialty hotels in fourteen countries: Italy, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Greece, Morocco, South Africa, and Mexico).

Travelers visiting Escapio.com can search for hotels by types (e.g. design, wellness, romantic), by regions (e.g. Tuscany, Mallorca, Cancun) or by categories (e.g. four or five stars). All Escapio.com hotels have been handpicked and inspected by our scouts. Each location possesses one or all of the following attributes: special charm, outstanding settings and exclusive design. We also aim to inspire travelers by featuring seasonal events and trend correct travel themes.

2. What makes Escapio.com different from other travel agencies?

Our company motto is “We scout. You enjoy”. Escapio.com has carefully inspected every hotel listed on our website and can guarantee a certain level of quality and service. The website is enjoyable to “surf on” and we're finding from our customers that their journey begins with the Escapio.com search for the hotel that matches their personality and requirements.

3. What inspired you to start Escapio.com?

The idea of Escapio.com was born while I was planning my honeymoon. I researched a lot of hotels in the Tuscany region of Italy by personally travelling throughout the countryside. Afterwards, a lot of my friends asked for my notes as at that time, nobody online seemed to have a search tool for these types of hotels – that was the beginning of Escapio.com. The term 'escapio' is a play on 'escape' for those seeking refuge, looking to get away from it all.

4. What are the best Spring Break destinations for college students this year?

For students that are interested in the story of Italian art, Tuscany is a wonderful place. The weather is quite nice but not too warm to visit the important historic monuments and museums. A fun place to stay is the B&B Antica Dimora Residenza d’Arte, an extraordinary art hotel near Siena.

Students that are looking to have fun and enjoy the nightlife, one of the most exciting cities in the world to visit is Berlin. The stylized Ellington Hotel is a great place located downtown. And, the Arte Luise Kunsthotel is located in Prenzlauer Berg, one of the hottest areas in Berlin.

A good destination for students that would prefer a more laid back break and bathe in the sun, would be Mexico. Here, we have two very appealing boutique hotels:
