1. What is the inspiration behind Magnolia Moonlight?
I guess it started in Architecture school. We always had so many supplies lying around... chip board, scraps of abandoned silk screen prints, spray paint... I'd end up making little pieces of art, cards and boxes. I've always enjoyed the process of making something thoughtfully designed and knowing someone I cared about would get it in the mail. I felt like I was sending a piece of myself and that when they opened it we would be connected for a moment - no matter how far apart they were. I love to find out that friends of mine still have all those birthday cards and mailings I made them years ago. The same inspiration is with me now when I create a new line of cards!
2. What made you decide to start Magnolia Moonlight?
It was always a dream. Every year I'd write down my goals and dreams at New Years - kind of a New Years Resolution thing. When I moved from Colorado to Virginia, I took a couple of months off to play and I started being more creative and making/designing just for fun. When it was time to start a new job, I decided to keep having fun and do what I love... and here I am!

3. Describe the typical person who uses Magnolia Moonlight.
There is quite a range, but really, it is anyone who is drawn to bold color and graphics. People who love little details and can't help but pick up something graphically appealing - and anyone who just wants to send a fun, unique note and brighten someone's day!

4. What's the coolest part about your job?
It is all the people I meet and new worlds that keep opening up to me! I have sold cards, calendars and mobiles to people all over the world. I have met amazing bloggers and have discovered so many new companies and stores. Locally, I have met a talented group of designers that constantly inspire and motivate me. My whole world broadens each day and I wake up excited about what is next!

5. What's next for Magnolia Moonlight?
Well,I am currently working on a daily planner as well as an expansion of my mobile line. I adore booklets, flip books, and journals, so I hope to add some to my offerings soon. There are some new holiday cards in the works as well. I am always open to new ideas and would love to work on some fabric patterns someday soon!
